We assume the legal responsibility for packaging waste management and organize a system that ensures compliance with the applicable legal requirements.

What is Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)?

The EU defines Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) as a policy approach under which producers are responsible for packaging and packaging waste throughout the entire product life cycle, including the stage after packaging becomes waste.

This principle means that manufacturers, importers, packers/fillers, and distributors placing packaged products on the market are responsible for the collection, sorting, and recycling of packaging waste. They are also required to meet national recycling and reuse targets and regularly report to the competent authorities.

Failure to comply with these obligations may result in penalties prescribed by law.

A company can fulfill EPR obligations in one of three ways:

1| By transferring its obligations to an authorized operator

2| Through independent packaging waste management

3| By paying the statutory fee to the state
